FUNDAMENTALS of Solatube AIA Course – “Introduction to Tubular Day lighting”:

  1. Understand traditional daylighting technologies and their advantages and disadvantages.
  2. Be familiar with the key energy and human performance-based reasons for using daylight in today’s commercial and institutional environments.
  3. Understand the design advantages afforded by the new optical daylighting technology of Tubular Daylighting Devices (TDDs).
  4. Be able to describe the unique concept and benefits of the TDD and the four key components that make up every commercially-available TDD product.
  5. Understand performance & technology issues to consider when choosing the right TDD for a day lighting application.

FUNDAMENTALS of McKeon AIA Course -“Understanding the International Building Codes”:

  1. The definition, use and application of the fire walls in Chapter 7.
  2. Opening protective guidelines for the fire walls in Chapter 7.
  3. Working with the 3-part Means of Egress Systems
  4. Applications include: Occupancy Classifications and Separation of Mixed Occupancies  (IBC, Chapters 3, 4, 5); Vertical Opening Separation (IBC, Chapters 7, 10); Atrium Applications (IBC, Chapters 4, 7, 10) ; Smoke Compartmentation (IBC, Chapters 7, 10) ; Corridor Separation (IBC, Chapters 7, 10) ; Exit access Separation (IBC, Chapters 10, 31

FUNDAMENTALS of Door Engineering AIA Course -“Understanding Four Fold Door Systems”:

  1. Understanding Four-Fold doors and their applications.
  2. Understanding the design and the 1 million cycles.
  3. Understanding the maintenance differences between a Four-Fold and a conventional Overhead door.
