A Little About Aluminum

Quality products are mandatory.  There are no exceptions.  This is why Specified Building Products makes sure that the products we offer are made with Alcoa Aluminum.   Alcoa is the world’s leading producer of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina.  Their products and components are used worldwide in aircraft, automobiles, beverage cans, buildings, chemicals, sports and recreation, and a wide variety of industrial and consumer applications, including such Alcoa consumer brands as Alcoa wheels, Reynolds Wrap®aluminum foil, and Baco® household wraps.

There are many terms that you may not ever have heard of that are inherent in the aluminum making process such as “smelting” or “extrusion”.   What you might find even more interesting is how aluminum is actually made.  Here is a white paper from our friends at Alcoa that explains the interesting details about the beginnings of that beautiful fixture that adds so much value to your home.
